The article talks about the life and accomplishments of the great Argentine writer Luz Valdenebro. And what better way to talk about a writer's life, than with a good old self-referential blog post. That's right folks! Believe it or not, I'm a blogger who sometimes has a tough time writing articles. The best remedy that I've found is to write articles about how to overcome writer's block. Luz Valdenobro is a writer and poet (her poem "Cassandra" is part of the UNESCO Human Heritage Project). She was born on February 19, 1925 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied medicine and graduated from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine but her passion was writing. As a young girl she would write stories about ghosts and monsters. At age 14 she wrote plays that she performed for her friends at school, as well as plays that she performed at home for her family. She graduated from medical school in 1947 with honors, but her true love was writing. She began writing in the 1940s and wrote many articles and stories. She was a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Alba " and became director of the magazine in 1952. In 1954, she founded and directed the literary magazine "Minerva". In 1956 she published her first volume of poetry. It was entitled Manual de la tentación (Manual of Temptation). The volume gained much fame and respect for her among other writers such as Juan Gelman, José Bianco, Aníbal González. Her second volume of poetry, Vigilia de la rosa (The watch of the rose) was published in 1958 and continued to gain the respect and appreciation of other writers. Her next book was a collection of short stories called El coloquio de los perros (The dialogue of dogs). This book won her the Premio Municipal de la Literatura (Municipal Prize in Literature) and she became a nominee for the Premio Biblioteca Breve (Short Stories Prize). She was also nominated for the Premio Internacional de Poesía América Latina y del Caribe (International Poetry Prize in America Latina y el Caribe). She was also nominated for the Premio de la Asociación Argentina de Escritores (Argentina Association of Writers) for her book El libro de la amargura (Book of Bitterness). Her next books were poetry books. En la cama del amor su fiebre (In the Bed of Love's Fever) and El reino secreto (Secret Kingdom) were published in 1962. Much like her previous poetry volumes, these two works received much recognition and fame among other writers. cfa1e77820
